Green Building

Kent Underlayment Specialties is committed to the building and renovation of safe, healthy and sustainable indoor environments.  Kent installs Maxxon Gypsum and Portland-based underlayment products that are certified by the GreenGuard Environmental Institute.  Maxxon Corporation is the recognized leader in underlayment products with over 3.5 billion square feet of underlayments poured.  

The GreenGuard Environmental Institute protects human health and improves quality of life by certifying products and materials for low chemical emissions.  GreenGuard is an ISO-IEC Guide 65:1996 accredited third-party organization that serves as an industry resource for the selection of healthy products and materials for indoor environments.

Kent Underlayment Specialties uses Maxxon products because they meet the most stringent product emission criteria in the industry.  Maxxon products are Greenguard SelectTM certified, which contributes toward earning points for LEED project certification.  The GreenGuard Select Certification Program tests products for eco-friendly use in commercial, education, healthcare and home environments.

Sound Control

Kent Companies achieves optimal sound control for building residents and patrons by combining floor underlayments with the installation of sound control mats. 

Kent installs Maxxon Sound Mats, which are LEED-compliant and GreenGuard certified.  With more than 200 million square feet installed across the industry, Maxxon Sound Mats have over 100 UL Fire Rated Designs and more than 900 documented sound tests.  

Acousti-Mat mitigates and transfers "airborne" and "impact" sounds in nearly every floor assembly. This innovative technology allows for cost-effective and high-performance construction in multi-family and lodging applications.

Wear Surfaces and Self-Leveling Underlayments

Kent also installs Maxxon's portland-based self-leveling and wear surface products. With strengths ranging from 3,000 psi to 7,200 psi, these products provide a level surface in any application, from concrete resurfacing to rehabilitation of existing structures.  Portland-based products deliver strength and finish characteristics that allow them to serve as a final, wearable surface.
