Vice President Matt Fennema Recognized as one of “40 Under Forty” Business Leaders by the Grand Rapids Business Journal
[GRAND RAPIDS, MI] – Kent Companies Vice President Matt Fennema, P.E. was named to the 2016 “40 Under Forty” list by the Grand Rapids Business Journal. The annual program recognizes the region’s top young business leaders who are making a difference in West Michigan. Fennema was recognized for his personal and professional achievements as well as his civic contributions. Fennema was chosen among a record-setting 317 nominations – a number which nearly doubles any previous year.
Fennema currently serves as the President of both the American Subcontractors Association of Michigan and the American Concrete Institute. He is also active in various leadership roles in the Associated Builders and Contractors – West Michigan Chapter, the national American Subcontractors Association and the American Society of Concrete Contractors.
Fennema shared, “I believe the construction industry plays a critical role in building the infrastructure and buildings that our community needs to grow.” He continued, “I’m proud of the work we do every day to help create jobs for our region. I’m inspired by all of the growth that I see around me. The sky is the limit in West Michigan.”
Fennema is a licensed civil engineer and a 2004 graduate of Calvin College. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional. The Grand Rapids Business Journal will honor the 2016 40 Under Forty at a ceremony on October 25, 2016 at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
