Kent Companies Wins ASA North Texas Award for Lower Greenville Avenue Apartments
[DALLAS, Texas – June 3, 2022] The North Texas Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association presented the Gold Project Award to Kent Companies for the Lower Greenville Avenue Apartments (ELE) project. The award was presented in the $6-8 million project category at the 44th Annual North Texas Chapter Awards Night in Dallas, Texas.
The Kent Companies team built this multi-family building and subterranean parking in the middle of a pandemic for Oden Hughes. ELE is an eight-story podium project situated in the Lower Greenville area of Dallas.
The 234-unit multi-family project has 48,000 square feet of slab on grade, three levels of a subterranean parking garage, and four upper levels of post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete decks, totaling more than 224,000 square feet. The scope of work also included:
- Elevator pits
- Foundation walls
- 557 concrete columns
- 5,000 SF of concrete paving
- 1,800 SF of concrete sidewalks
“I’m incredibly proud of our management team who strategized with Oden Hughes to meet the needs of their critical path forward,” said Executive Vice President Angel Alvarez. “This project stands on what used to be a 1.27-acre vacant lot and is now the tallest building in the Lower Greenville district.”
Kent Companies delivered exceptional customer service through honest and proactive communication with Oden Hughes about expectations. The onset of COVID-19 created a challenge the company, like many others, had never faced before. Job site shutdowns caused schedule delays that affected the entire project and, in turn, the pandemic created material delays.
“Achieving a delivery date close to the original mark is impressive after the past two years,” said Alvarez.
The team overcame pandemic-induced obstacles by driving safety protocol, managing employee relations through uncertainty, emphasizing productivity and setting strategic yet achievable daily production goals.
