Open Enrollment Now through June 22 for Kent Companies Inc. Employees

Open enrollment for health, dental and vision coverage is going on now. There are no changes in coverage this year. We continue to offer the following:

  • Medical: Blue Care Network for Michigan employees; Blue Cross Blue Shield for out-of-state employees
  • Dental: Delta Dental
  • Vision: VSP

Pricing remains the same for both dental and vision insurances.  Medical insurance costs will increase slightly. The cost for employees with single coverage will be $16.50/week and family coverage will be $58.38/week.

If you’re already enrolled in insurance, you do not need to take any further action. If you or any member of your team is interested in enrolling, please contact Mindy or Sarah in HR for the proper forms.

Please note-you can only sign up for dental insurance if you take the medical insurance. Vision insurance can be purchased by any employee. We also continue to maintain a spousal carve out provision. If your spouse is able to take insurance through their current employer, they are not able to be on our plan.

The deadline to enroll is June 22, 2018. This will ensure that we have enough time to process everything for the July 1 start date.

If you have any questions at all, please contact Human Resources by calling 616-534-4909 or emailing Mindy Curtiss or Sarah Miller. We’re always happy to help you maximize the benefits available to you.

Eric Lokers Recognized with Kent Companies Honor Coin

CEO Jeff VanderLaan recognized Yard Foreman Eric Lokers with a Kent Companies Honor Coin at the Grand Rapids Make it Happen event on May 24, 2018. Lokers was nominated for the award by Jeremy Schieber. Eric’s nomination was focused on his high level of customer service and attention to detail in supporting the entire field team.

Jeremy shared, “In his short two to three years with the company, Eric has helped me build and use Tool Watch. He tracks our inventory levels. He is responsible for all orders incoming and outgoing. On top of all of these responsibilities, he is also held accountable for order accuracy. He tries very hard to keep the machine moving, and he succeeds daily.

Eric has awesome character and pushes himself as well as his team toward the goal everyday.  He takes care of the field in any way he can. His customer service skills are second to none, and he realizes the importance of keeping the field moving by any means necessary.  He cares about his job, and everyone who works with him can see how much pride he takes in his work.”

Kent Companies Honor Coins recognize extraordinary performance with regard to the Four Hallmarks of Safety, Productivity, Quality and Customer Service. Peer nominations are reviewed by executive management, and only outstanding submissions are recognized with a limited edition Honor Coin. Eric is one of only 17 recipients in Kent Companies history.

Congratulations to Eric Lokers!
