Superintendent Troy Clinger – Finalist, Craft Professional of the Year – ABC West Michigan Chapter
The Associated Builders & Contractors – West Michigan Chapter named Superintendent Troy Clinger a finalist for the Craft Professional of the Year Award at the 2017 Excellence in Construction Awards.
If you ask Troy’s team about his leadership and service, they’ll quickly tell you the value he brings to every job site.
Foreman Patrick Sullivan says, “Troy is all about training. He’ll teach you, and then he’ll trust you to use those skills. If we have questions, he answers the phone. He has patience. He’s willing to work alongside you whenever needed. He knows concrete.”
Foreman Jake Smit shares, “Troy has worked alongside me when we needed help. He has also encouraged me to be a leader myself. He sets expectations for our projects, and then he gets out of the way. He doesn’t micro-manage. He trusts us to get the job done. He knows that we’ll ask for help or resources if we need it. We’re all motivated because we want to show him how much we’ve learned.”
Foreman Kurt McEntaffer added, “If I’m a man shy, Troy is right there with me. He and I set walls together in the dead of winter. He was 80 feet in the air with me to help tie rebar so that our team could get another part of the job ready for a pour.”
Executive Vice President Dave Fordon added, “Troy is extremely detail-oriented. He communicates his expectations clearly. He is the go-to person for trouble-shooting challenging projects, and he doesn’t leave any assumptions in the field.”
