Project: 50 Monroe Place – CWD Building – Grand Rapids, Michigan
General Contractor: Owens-Ames-Kimball
The Underlayments team is re-pouring seven floors of the iconic CWD Building in downtown Grand Rapids as it transforms into a Marriott Hotel and commercial center. The team will pour 127,000 square feet of 1″ average cap of Dura-Cap to re-flatten the floors. The 4000+psi Dura-Cap will allow subsequent trades to frame and work off of safe, clean and flat floors.
What’s special about this one?
This building is the site of the Gyp-Crete Division’s first renovation project 31 years ago!
Additional contract awards include:
Parkway Flats in Kalamazoo for Kendall Construction; Eagle Crossing in Indiana for CORE Construction; Bridge and Stocking in Grand Rapids (apartments above the new Meijer) for Rockford Construction; Heritage Place in GR for Orion Construction. Each one of these projects includes Gyp-Crete floors and sound mat.
Vice President Mark Tromp shared, “We’ve maintained a very healthy backlog throughout 2017, and our team will be very busy in the new year. We’re looking forward to Making it Happen.”
