Project Highlight: Tilt-Up at Project Oxygen

Kent Companies partnered with Choate Construction on Project Oxygen, a large beverage manufacturing facility in Shelby Township, Michigan.  Kent Companies’ scope of work included 124 tilt-wall panels to complete the exterior of the building. Each panel was 25” wide by 46” tall, resulting in over 129,000 SF of concrete panels formed and erected by the Kent Companies team.

Project Oxygen required extensive pre-planning due to the large quantity of panels and tight site conditions. The Kent Companies project management team strategically mapped the panel sequencing and locations to ensure safe, efficient construction. The lot for the new facility was surrounded by power lines and existing buildings, which made crane access a challenge. To combat this issue, the team shifted the casting beds to fit the site conditions. The expertise of our crew enabled us to work efficiently without causing a delay on the project. One-by-one, we safely erected and braced 124 tilt-wall panels; each one inspected by our quality assurance lead.

In addition to our concrete scope, our underlayments team placed grout at the base joints between the panels and foundation, which totaled 3,000 LF of grouting.

Project Oxygen is a testament to the manpower, mobilization, and collaboration that Kent Companies delivers. Our Four Hallmarks of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Customer Service are evident throughout the entire facility.
