20 Fulton East

Project Overview

Pioneer Construction partnered with Kent Companies for the comprehensive concrete scope of work for 20 Fulton East, a 12-story mixed use retail and residential building and 4-story cast-in-place parking structure. The Kent team installed 360 tons of reinforcing steel, over 200,000 pounds of post-tensioning material and over 7,770 cubic yards of concrete.

The massive post-tensioned decks throughout the residential and parking structure formed the core of this project. Integration points throughout the elevated decks required many teams to work in concert with each other. Daily quality checks ensured all formwork, openings and reveals were built to exact specifications.

The Kent team implemented unique forming and pouring sequences that saved time for the entire project. Most notably, Kent Companies provided extensive manpower while facing simultaneous workforce demands for several massive projects across downtown Grand Rapids. The project topped off ahead of schedule in November 2016.
