Dreamtroit

Project Overview

Dreamtroit is a multi-family renovation project of an existing campus located in the art district of Detroit. Originally an auto plant built in 1908, the space is now being transformed into an 81-unit apartment complex with space for creatives, including art galleries, musical areas, a market and restaurants. This unique complex required underlayment and sound control products to meet the needs for a successful buildout.

Kent Companies completed underlayment work throughout the 55,000 SF interconnected building. Maxxon Commercial Pro Level-Crete was installed over structural concrete in buildings 5 and 9, while buildings 2 and 3 required Maxxon Commercial Pro Level-Crete over Acousti-Matt with reinforcement over a wooden substrate. To reduce the chance of cracking and increase the strength of the flooring, Kent Companies screened and sealed all the buildings to wrap the project up for its successful grand opening.
