Long ago, the Houston and Central Railroads made Old Town Plano a major trading center. Today, modern design and vintage charm are driving the re-urbanization of this historic community. Southern Land Company developed Junction 15 Apartments to maximize the use of vertical space: mixed-use commercial space, nearly 300 apartment units and a multi-level parking garage. We delivered proactive solutions and the capacity to perform throughout this highly complex project.
Brick paved streets, dart rail and sharp elevation changes limited access to the Junction 15 job site. Our teams worked within a tight operational area with limited space for material delivery and staging. We installed 41,611 square feet of post- tensioned foundations wrapped around a 5-1/2 story cast in place parking garage.
We also placed concrete for 35,000 square feet of mixed-use space, slab on carton, at the ground floor level on two sides of the project. The area was topped by cast in place podium decks, which extremely limited our access.Our team conquered the logistics of this complex building process, ultimately installing 721 tons of rebar and placing over 11,300 cubic yards of concrete.
