One Silver Crescent Office Building & Parking Deck (Ayrsley)

Project Overview

One Silver Crescent is a four-story, 120,000 square foot office facility located in Ayrsley, a 180-acre master planned community in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Kent Companies team overcame significant logistical challenges throughout the project. One Silver Crescent’s 75-foot tall tilt-wall panels had twice as many square feet as the floor slabs. The job site had extremely limited space and access points for the crane and lifting sequences.

Kent Companies poured temporary casting slabs on adjacent property and between nearby on-going construction projects. The largest concrete panel was 207,000 pounds and 33 feet wide, including four-foot return corners. The Kent team identified safety, rigging capacity and site issues for lifting this massive panel. Following Kent Companies’ recommendations, the panel was re-engineered into two separate 135,000 pound panels that were safely erected.

As panels were lifted into place, the casting slab became the new construction road and laydown area. Each panel was braced to the exterior of the building utilizing 50-foot long braces. Panel bracing was designed to avoid an underground high voltage line.

Kent Companies met all budget and schedule milestones for Concorde Construction Company on One Silver Crescent.
