Plant Renovation

Project Overview

Our team managed tight deadlines and work spaces to deliver a critical renovation on time.

THE CHALLENGE:

A large stamping and manufacturing plant wanted to maintain full operations during an extensive renovation.

THE SOLUTION:

With the customer’s deadline and on-going operations in mind, the Kent Companies team designed an expedited project schedule with strategic scheduling and flexible work zones. The team began with the demolition and removal of 45,000 SF of 8″ slab on grade and completed 3,500 CYD of excavation. Next, the team structurally engineered and designed 13 press foundations for the new stamping equipment. Kent’s team installed 48 tons of steel angle, beams and plating, poured back 30,000 SF of 8″ slab on grade, and paved the dock with 4,000 SF 55 LF of trench drain. Finally, the team installed a new storm sewer and 20,000 SF of parking lot and asphalt paving to complete the project. Flexible work zones ensured safe operations for the plant’s employees and all trade contractors. Strategic scheduling kept the plant fully operational throughout the project.
