Project Overview

Tanger Outlets promise to give visitors the “ultimate shopping experience.”

Construction of the Grand Rapids retail center posed the ultimate challenge with compressed schedule, limited work space and intricate design. That’s why Rockford Construction chose Kent Companies to fulfill the complete concrete package.

Concrete work began in November 2014 with the construction of a retention pond spillway. Kent Companies began pouring foundations and slabs on grade for over 361,000 square feet of retail space shortly thereafter.

Extensive logistics were required to share limited working space with other trades, and an extremely long, cold winter further compressed the tight project schedule.

The Kent Companies team gave a show stopping performance. Over two-thirds of the entire exterior concrete package was installed between April and July t meet the July 31st grand opening date.

Kent’s site concrete team installed 23,000 lineal feet of curb and gutter; over 195,000 square feet of sidewalks; 64,000 square feet of pavement and 120 decorative bollards. Three different stamps and four different concrete stains were the perfect accessory for the expansive retail center.
