Certainty at Scale: A National Approach to Data Center Concrete

Data center construction means delivering campuses on short schedules with tight tolerances and zero room for rework. Owners need partners who can control outcomes and create certainty at scale. Kent Concrete is a top-10 concrete contractor ranked by ENR that national general contractors and construction managers choose to deliver hyperscale data centers, edge data centers, colocation facilities and exascale campuses across the United States.

"Our experience to this point has prepared us to do this well," shares DFW-based Division Manager Wes Marek. "A lot of what came with gaining our opportunity to grow was being willing to do things that other people weren't."

Beyond our successes across Texas and the Southeast, Kent Concrete is now building data centers nationwide.

Structured for Scale

Kent Concrete’s National Mission Critical Division builds data centers and advanced manufacturing projects outside of our core operations in Texas, the Carolinas, and Michigan. Led by Division Manager Wes Gibson, the Mission Critical team leverages the collective data from Kent Concrete’s commercial operations to align and standardize preconstruction processes, repeatable systems, and crews designed for high-demand environments.

This structure builds on what we know works. Our Texas teams earned our entry into this sector with proof at scale and repeat awards across multiple phases and campuses. From delivering manpower and resource coordination in remote areas to accelerating schedules whenever possible, we know what it takes to deliver for the most sophisticated owners. A national team enables Kent Concrete to take our proven model into every market without ramp-up or hesitation.

Built to Deliver

Division Manager Wes Gibson leads Kent Concrete’s National Mission Critical team. Throughout a career spanning 20+ years in concrete construction, Gibson’s perspective on project delivery is crystal clear.  Gibson shares, “If manpower, safety, resources, and sequencing aren’t aligned in preconstruction, you’re already behind.”

Kent Concrete’s Mission Critical team is structured to meet the challenges of modern data center construction - from multi-building campuses to high-load slabs, tight FM tolerances, and sequencing strategies that allow construction to move without delays. The best concrete trade partners build predictability early. “We bring serious horsepower and labor capacity to the project. We don’t wait on it,” shares Gibson. “That’s the difference. When manpower is certain, everything else becomes controllable.”

Kent Concrete controls outcomes by aligning self-perform labor resources, leveraging deep vendor relationships, and applying logistical coordination strategies that remove friction before it shows upon site. The result is consistent production in a high-demand environment.

Scaling Without Compromise

As projects are built in further remote locations, Kent Concrete deploys teams that already understand the pace and coordination required for hyperscale builds. This model reduces ramp-up time, strengthens consistency across sites, and allows for real-time problem-solving backed by experience, not reaction. With Gibson at the helm, the National Mission Critical Division is grounded in field-first leadership with a national execution strategy.

Data center construction is defined by those who deliver with certainty at scale. If that’s the standard you expect, let’s talk

See what Sets Data Center Delivery Apart

Certainty doesn’t happen by chance. We built it into every phase, from preconstruction to manpower, and safety. Watch the Certainty at Scale series below to see how Kent delivers when it matters most.

Preconstruction that Pays Off

The work that matters most happens before the first yard is placed. See how disciplined preconstruction drives efficiency, reduces risk, and delivers real value on data center projects.

Safety That Keeps the Job Moving

A strong safety program keeps the job on track. When crews operate with precision and accountability, schedules hold and performance follows.

Manpower without Question

Certainty starts with the people on site. The right manpower, ready when it’s needed, keeps data center projects moving without hesitation.
