Planning and Precision: Inside our Akron Children’s Hospital Project

We pride ourselves on delivering efficient, high-quality flooring solutions on every job, even when the project comes with a unique set of challenges. Our recent work at Akron Children’s Hospital is a perfect example of how our team rises to the occasion.

The KJP 5th Floor Build-Out at Akron Children’s Hospital included 50,000 square feet of renovation work. Our scope focused on the installation of Maxxon Commercial Pro LEVEL-RIGHT underlayment across the entire fifth floor, totaling over 3,300 bags of product. This was a crucial step in preparing the space for the next phases of construction and ensuring a smooth, level surface for future flooring installations.

What made this project particularly complex were the logistical hurdles. Working in an active hospital environment means that patient care always comes first. Our team faced strict limitations on site access, material staging, and coordination. We worked closely with hospital staff and city police to manage these challenges, carefully scheduling deliveries and setting up staging areas in a way that kept hospital operations running smoothly and safely. Every detail, from sand delivery timing to access routes, had to be thoughtfully planned and executed.

Despite these constraints, we completed the entire scope of work within one week, minimizing disruptions to the hospital and other trades working on the project. We know that projects like these are about supporting bigger goals. And that’s exactly what we do.
