Kent Companies Earns the Award of Excellence from the Builders Exchange of Northwest Michigan
[TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – January 28, 2022] – The Builders Exchange of Northwest Michigan recognized Kent Companies, Inc. with the Award of Excellence for its concrete and paving work on the CD13 Catalyst Development project in Traverse City, Michigan. The award recognizes Northern Michigan commercial projects and promotes the quality workmanship performed by talented contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and their employees.
The Builders Exchange of Northwest Michigan presented the award to Kent Companies at a reception on January 27 at the Traverse City Golf & Country Club.
The CD13 Catalyst Development project included the rehabilitation and extension of a 15,000 SQ FT existing professional office space – formerly the Old City Hall.
The project team was comprised of:
- General Contractor: CSM Group
- Concrete: Kent Companies, Inc.
- Architect: TowerPinkster
- Engineer: JDH Structural Engineering
Kent Companies delivered a comprehensive scope of concrete specialties and services throughout the interior and exterior of the building, including:
- Cast-in-place walls for the building addition’s stairs and elevator
- Slab on grade for adjacent walls
- Gyp-Crete underlayments in a second-floor bathroom and poured infills in the basement of the building
- Parking lot paving equipped with heating tubes, sidewalk, curb, gutter, an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramp, and cast-in-place steps
- Composite slab infills
