Construction Inclusion Week: Making Room for Diversity

There should always be a seat at the table for diversity. Our craftspeople and professionals all come from a blend of different backgrounds and create who we are as a company. We’re creative problem solvers because we make room for these unique perspectives across the board.

As such, we’re participating in Construction Inclusion Week from October 18 to October 22. The week is hosted by a group of general contractors – Gilbane, DPR, Turner Construction, Mortenson, McCarthy and Clark Construction Group. These six companies joined forces and identified the need to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in construction.

The week’s objective is to build awareness around the need to enhance and improve DEI initiatives in the construction industry.

Each day of the week offers new resources, thoughtful discussions and has a daily theme, including:

  • Leadership commitment & accountability
  • Unconscious bias
  • Supplier diversity
  • Jobsite culture
  • Community engagement

As part of our company commitment, we’re providing our teammates with content, resources and tools to guide open conversations. Our intent is that this week will foster conversations to create alignment and take us further on this journey for our people.

Here are ways you can change the narrative, including:

  • Read – books, white papers, articles, websites
  • Watch – webinars, talks, discussions, films, movies
  • Listen – podcasts
  • Experience – exercises and activities

Join us in continuing to build the foundation for inclusion.
